Use cases

Warning on the quality of generated content: Data generated by the assistant are suggestions only. They must be reviewed and updated before any use. Dastra makes no commitment regarding the quality of the information provided.

Generate processing activities

Quickly generate processing activities in the format expected by Dastra from a brief description of your processing. Based on the described data use, Dastra will suggest a processing template including a name, one or more datasets with their fields, a retention period, security measures, recipients, and a description. Edit the processing activity once created to make your corrections.

Generate a privacy notice

1. Go to the editing page of a processing activity

2. In section 11. Documentation, click Generate a privacy notice

3. Choose the desired format, or customise the instructions by clicking Custom

4. Click Generate, then copy or insert the text into your documentation

Analyse a processing activity (beta)

The AI assistant can read the full record of a processing activity and produce a structured compliance assessment across multiple criteria.

1. Open a processing activity in Dastra

2. Click AI Analysis

3. Wait a few moments while the model processes the record

4. Review the criterion-by-criterion assessment — each criterion includes a grade, a plain-language justification, and relevant excerpts from the record

5. Click Restart analysis at any time to generate a fresh assessment

Criteria covered include: purposes, legal basis, data subjects' rights, data transfers, retention periods, security measures, and DPIA necessity.

Assets and actors

Generate an asset

Quickly generate an asset (software, tool, etc.) in the format expected by Dastra. The AI will suggest a name, links to the actor's privacy policy, and will create an actor as the publisher.

Generate an actor

1. Go to the Actors page

2. Click Create an actor > Create with AI assistant

3. Enter a description or provide a URL or attachment (e.g. a privacy policy)

4. Review the suggested entry and click Create

Datasets

Generate a dataset

1. Go to the Datasets page

2. Click Create a dataset > Create with AI assistant

3. Enter a short description of your dataset

4. Click Next and wait a few moments

5. On the summary screen, apply any corrections and click Create

Questionnaires

Generate a response to a questionnaire (PIA, risk analysis…)

1. Go to the Questionnaires section and select the desired template

2. Click Schedule a questionnaire

3. Select AI-assisted response

4. Enter the source processing activity or provide custom instructions

5. Once the response is generated, make your corrections directly

Rights requests

Generate a response to a rights request

Generate responses to rights requests in multiple languages, with customisation options (length, formal or informal tone, etc.).

1. Go to an ongoing rights request

2. Fill in the information up to the Communication/Transmission step

3. Click Generate with AI — the response is generated from the following fields: requester's first and last name, request message, language, workspace name, purposes, operator name, date and remaining deadline, request status and ID

4. Edit the suggested text or use the rephrasing options

5. Click Validate this message, add any attachments, then click Send

A rate limit on the number of calls per minute is in place for this feature.

Data breach notifications

Generate a breach post-mortem

After closing a data breach record, the AI assistant can generate a structured post-mortem based on the breach fields (description, affected data, measures taken).

1. Open a data breach record

2. Click Generate post-mortem

3. Review and edit the generated document before saving or sharing

Contracts

Extract metadata from a contract

The AI assistant can read an uploaded contract and extract key metadata automatically.

1. Go to the Contracts section and open a contract record

2. Attach the contract document or provide a URL

3. Click Extract metadata with AI

4. Review the suggested fields (parties, duration, subject matter, data processing clauses, etc.) and confirm

AI systems

Generate an AI system description

1. Go to the AI Systems section

2. Click Create an AI system > Create with AI assistant

3. Enter a description or provide a URL or attachment describing the system

4. Review the suggested entry and click Create

Generate an AI system notice

1. Open an AI system record

2. Go to the Documentation section and click Generate notice

3. Review and copy the generated transparency notice

Analyse an AI system (beta)

Similarly to the processing activity analysis, the AI assistant can assess an AI system record against key compliance criteria, including risk level, transparency obligations, and applicable EU AI Act requirements.

1. Open an AI system record

2. Click AI Analysis

3. Review the criterion-by-criterion assessment

4. Click Restart analysis to generate a fresh assessment if needed

Custom documents and reports

Generate a document

The AI assistant can generate a document template from a short description — whether a contract, a procedure, a policy, a data processing agreement, or any other document type managed in Dastra's document library.

1. Go to the Contrats & policies section

2. Click Create a document

3. In the creation dialog, enter a short description of the document you want to generate (up to 300 characters)

4. Optionally attach a file or provide a website URL as source material

5. Click Generate

6. Review and edit the generated document before saving

Generate a custom report

1. Go to Custom reports

2. Click Create a report > Generate with AI

3. Enter your instructions describing the report structure and content

4. Review the output and make your corrections
